Girl's and Boy's Soccer will maintain separate booster groups under NISD structure changes for 2009-10. As a result, a new booster group has been built exclusively for the girls.

Coach to 'Put Stamp On It’
Lindsey Jacobson will assume the position of head girls soccer coach at Byron Nelson High School for the 2009-10 season and said she believes this will be a good opportunity for her and the team for a couple of reasons.

Jacobson coached at Flower Mound High School for the three seasons prior to coming to Byron Nelson, where her teams competed against some of the top soccer programs in the state.

"I don’t know that I’ll miss it. Any coach that comes out of that district, after a while, I don’t know that you’d miss that," Jacobson joked. "[Seriously], I am really looking forward to bringing that with me.

"I learned a lot while I was at Flower Mound. The kids [at BNHS] may not be at the level yet of the kids at a big powerhouse 5A school, but that doesn’t change anything. It is a smaller school, but it is going to be a very talented school in all sports."

The former Lady Jaguars coach said she has already started working on her pre-district schedule, where she has included the likes of Marcus, Coppell and Southlake Carroll.

"I really want them to be prepared," Jacobson said. "I think the best way to do that is to go back and play some of my old rivals. There is nothing better to prepare our players."

Jacobson said there were a "a lot of things" that interested her about her new coaching position.

"The facilities, the atmosphere and the district itself are all unbelievable, and I just think they provide an environment that is right for kids to earn their success," she said. "They have given them all of the tools they need to be successful, and they definitely have gone about it the right way."

She added what she thought would make this season a success.

"I would like for us to have a winning season," Jacobson said. "I would love to win our district schedule, and getting some wins against some bigger JV teams would be outstanding.

"We play Marcus and Coppell twice and Southlake once, and I think to get some wins against those guys would be huge."
